We are North America's premier stocking distributor of high-quality imported wood products.

At Canusa Wood, we work hand-in-hand alongside mills and customers to ensure the wood products we buy and sell reflect the commitment to quality and standards we uphold in every aspect of our business. Our core areas of specialty include sourcing, distribution, quality assurance, compliance, and innovation.

Sourcing

We maintain over 100 mill relationships worldwide, some spanning multiple generations for over 40 years. Continuously evaluating production capabilities, pricing, and quality opportunities enables us to competitively source a diverse range of products—from birch plywood to bending ply, MDF, HPL and so much more.

Our expertise spans across these categories, ensuring products sourced globally are competitively priced and sourced from fully vetted, compliant and qualitative suppliers.

Distribution

We are experts in bringing products from anywhere in the world to North America. To accomplish this, we employ real-time tracking and communication with mills and our North American warehouse network. We proactively track shipments and ensure they arrive on time.

Once the material arrives in one of our 16 warehouses, we ensure the product gets to you in a timely manner.  Whether it's one load or one crate, one product or a mix of products, for delivery or pick-up, tomorrow, next week, or next month. We prioritize flexibility, short lead times, and attention to detail.

With numerous decades of combined experience, we understand the otherwise complex international supply chain.

Quality Assurance

Our experienced Grading & Quality Control teams, conduct inspections (and training) at partner mills worldwide. They enforce strict quality standards from setup through production, ensuring compliance with HPVA and Canusa Grade Standards, EPA/LACEY/FSC regulations, and our own SOPs.

Rigorous grading systems are used to inspect every panel, keep detailed records, and address issues onsite before shipment. They provide crucial insights on mill activities, inform R&D, assess market trends, and ensure top-quality products like Premcore® and Premcore®Plus.

Compliance

By focusing on import regulations, we help avoid problems that could impact the supply chain right up to the end-user. Every new partner mill gets vetted thoroughly by one of our dedicated compliance managers.

We ensure that all products we sell comply with import regulations such as CANFER, LACEY, CARB, EPA, FSC etc.

Innovation

In an ever-changing marketplace, it's important to keep a finger on the pulse of the end user's needs. Product demand can fluctuate based on building standards, design trends and supply availability.

In response to this, Canusa is always developing new ‘in-demand’ products for specific sector applications — and in some cases, custom grades specific to the end-user’s exact needs.

Our Innovation and willingness to adapt with new products and finishes is part of what sets us apart from the competition.

Sustainability

Canusa Wood is increasingly recognized as a sustainable building material due to its renewable nature and low environmental impact. Unlike concrete or steel, which require significant energy to produce, wood is sourced from forests that can be managed and replenished.

Sustainable forestry practices, such as selective harvesting and reforestation, ensure that trees are harvested responsibly without depleting forest resources. Additionally, wood products can store carbon throughout their lifespan, helping to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. When sourced from well-managed forests and processed using eco-friendly methods, wood can be an environmentally friendly choice for construction projects.

Canusa Wood is proud to partner with mills and vendors that value our forests and the environmental footprint of the industry; working to keep forests sustainable and renewable for generations to come.
