Our experienced Grading & Quality Control team is the reason we can guarantee the quality of our products. They conduct inspections and training at our mills around the world, and enforce our strict quality control standards from setup through production.

Their depth of experience and training.

Our team leader, Allen Fung, is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable graders in the industry. He leads a team of eight highly trained Canusa graders, all of whom are trained in:

• HPVA and Canusa Grade Standards
• EPA/LACEY/FSC regulations
• international legal documentation
• our own standard operating procedures.

They’ve developed a grading system that’s airtight.

Every single panel is graded to HPVA and industry standards. Our elite grading team adheres to a rigorous production quality control system, during which they:

• observe orders during production
• inspect raw materials and platforms
• inspect manufacturing process
• keep detailed records (including photos) in work diaries.

They provide a global flow of information.

In addition to industry-best quality control, the grading team serves an important communication function. They travel regularly across the globe to our distant partner mills, keeping us updated on seasonal mill activity, changes in output or quality, and other relevant information in the timeliest manner possible.



The team also includes several overseas logistics specialists to manage documentation and communicate with graders and mill managers to keep the flow of products moving smoothly.

They address problems before product leaves the mill.

Our Quality Control Team grades every aspect of our panels according to industry standards such as HPVA. If they detect any issues affecting quality, they correct them on-site, at the mill — before they are shipped.

Their expertise also informs R&D and market forecasts.

They get an insider’s point-of-view on the state of the market — from the ground up. They advise us on which mills are operating at capacity and which ones have additional capacity. They can also identify potential new global partners and ensure they are trained according to Canusa Quality Control Standards.

They ensure quality product by ensuring quality mills.

At least once a week, Allen and his team communicate with every mill they work with regarding quality levels and production output. Regular contact helps us guarantee punctual shipment, sufficient production capacity and outstanding quality. The team is continually developing at least 4-6 new mills a year and monitoring mill performance around the world.

The team plays a major role in ensuring quality control of Premcore® and Premcore®Plus, including:

• specifying and monitoring higher grade raw material selection
• precision production process control
• high-tech machine performance and finishing.
