Along with the day to day operations of running the company, my other focus for Canusa is to continue to service and grow our U.S. sales regions. During the day I am involved in selling product into the Western U.S. and purchasing products for various regional warehouses. On a personal note, my little family of a dog, toddler, and wife will become a little bigger with a new baby on the way. If I sound tired on the phone, it’s because I am! GO SEAHAWKS!
My time is spent on a balance between managing sales programs, various management functions and providing the wisdom of the ages if asked. It is exciting to watch this company grow as newer employees combine their own strong work ethic with the long time Canusa culture of care and resect for our customers and suppliers.
We are very well positioned to be a valuable link between our suppliers and customers well into the future.
I oversee the Canadian sales team, and am involved in day-to-day selling in Western Canada. My experience in the industry is just under 20 years, and I truly enjoy the people involved with it. I look forward to dealing with our customers for many years to come.
When I’m not selling panels, my hobbies include ice hockey and softball. I am also a lifelong fan of the Vancouver Canucks.
It is exciting to be part of a very energetic and experienced team at Canusa. My time is balanced between sales in the Pacific Northwest and Canada and working with our vendors from around the world.
Outside of work I enjoy staying active and spending time with family and friends.
Director of Operations & Logistics
My mandate is to create a comprehensive logistics function that is ultimately more transparent, informative and responsive, supporting the expectations and growth of our customers’ businesses. I bring over 20 years of industry-specific experience and am thrilled to be a member of the Canusa team.
In my spare time you will find me cheering on our two young children’s various activities. My wife and I love to travel and as a family we enjoy time away at our rustic cabin in the interior or exploring outdoors closer to home in North Vancouver.
On a daily basis I assist the Northern California and Pacific Northwest sales team and working to develop inventory management and purchasing.
I enjoy the outdoors, especially skiing, hiking and biking. Other interests that keep me busy include cooking, traveling, spending time with my two energetic dogs – I’m always up to try something new and exciting.
My main focus for Canusa is to maintain and grow sales in Southern California and manage inventory for the region. I’m also involved with key accounts in other regions.
When I’m not at work I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, staying busy with my four boys and all their sporting activities! Occasionally, I get time to myself to enjoy the thrill of fishing in our local waters. “FISH ON!!!!”
My focus at Canusa is to maintain and expand our sales in Eastern Canada as well as manage inventory for that region. I also have a few accounts in Western Canada.
I have worked in this industry for over 16 years and thoroughly enjoy all aspects of it.
When I’m not at the office you can find me trying to keep up with my two daughters and all their sports and activities. I am also an avid sports fan and stay busy in my spare-time playing ice hockey and baseball.
As the newest member of the Canusa sales team my main focus is to maintain sales and manage the inventory in the Pacific North West. I have worked in the wood industry for 14 years and with a last name like mine how could I do anything else. I am proud to be part of such a great team and look forward to building new relationships with our customers.
Outside of work I spend my time with my wife and daughter enjoying all the great activities Vancouver has to offer. Our favorites are skiing , biking, swimming and camping.
With a focus on the Canadian market, my role is to provide sales, customer and purchasing support and back up for the Canada team. Outside of the office, I love to get outdoors and you will more than likely find me exploring Vancouver and the surrounding areas through running, hiking, camping or skiing.
My passion is to advance brands with insightful marketing strategy. My work at Canusa has a lot to do with supporting the service group to create a superior customer experience. A better marketing communications plan and finding the most interesting points of value that Canusa delivers means refining and delivering our story through key customer touch points. We've just started and I am stoked to take our marketing to the next level and build the company's reputation.
I also love the North Shore lifestyle and can be found mountain biking, windsurfing or skiing with my family on the weekend.
Finance and Operations
While the rest of the team focuses on the buying and selling, I make sure everything adds up. It must be my passion because I've been at it for 30 years in various industries including banking, real estate, technology and professional services. My various roles within Canusa include financial management, risk management, information technology and business operations. I spend my spare time moving my body on the North Shore bike trails, the basketball court or the ski slopes.
Onsite Quality Control in China
Allen employs and manages an office staff and team of graders in Xuzhou, China. They do a superb job of coordinating our orders with the mills, the inspecting and grading of our plywood, and arranging the shipment of our completed orders.
Grading Team in China
Here is Allen comparing notes after an intensive day of grading premium plywood. Each grader must have 3 years or higher prior working background in plywood factories in order to be considered. This way they understand the plywood making process and can ensure Canusa’s high-quality control standards are maintained.
Our accounting group focuses on efficient client financial management. Employing a new industry specific accounting and inventory management system from DMSi called Agility, we expect it to continue to improve our efficiency in 2019 and beyond to make life easier for our customers and their money/stock management.
